Perched on the official 'drier side of Britain', Skegness is a seaside resort that's small enough to offer a friendly atmosphere but large enough to provide hours of entertainment for young and old alike. Until the town's first rail link was built in the mid 1870s, it had been little more than a village with fewer than 400 residents, most of whom earned a living as fishermen or farm labourers. But once the trains began rolling into town, Skegness soon burst into life as the successful seaside resort we know today. The frequent rail excursions that brought visitors to Skegness in their thousands also gave rise to one of the town's best known icons - the cheerful and irrepressible Jolly Fisherman. His 'birth' in 1908 came at the hand of artist John Hassall, who created the character for an advertising poster at the request of the Great Northern Railway Company. Skegness' sandy beach is less than 500 metres from the County hotel, the Natureland Seal Sanctuary is just 200 metres away and the town centre is a 10 minute journey on foot. Some rooms feature sea views. Guests can relax with an evening drink and a snack in the County Hotel's bar. Fresh produce is served in the hotel's restaurant.

During your stay there will be 1 full day excursion and 1 half day.
